This year’s carol service is a follow-on from Remembrance in this Armistice Centenary year. I am trying to recreate the kind of carol service that soldiers and sailors and airmen returning from the war would have experienced.
So the readings are all from the Authorised Version of the Bible, the Carols are all traditional ones, many with traditional English melodies – but we will also be including ‘Silent Night’. There are also three readings from the ’14-18 War as a reminder.
After the service mulled wine and mince pies will be served, so come along and enjoy a traditional service of seven lessons and carols, and time to mix and talk afterwards.
