The first harvest service was last Sunday at Sidbury – a full church for a warm and clebratory occasion, followed by harvest supper at Sidbury Hall. The next one is at Cleeton tomorrow at 4 pm.
Farlow celebrates the harvest the following Sunday, October 1st, at 6:30 pm, followed by the auction of produce. Stottesdon has a service followed by harvest supper in the church on Friday 6th October, and a harvest communion service at 10:30 on Sunday 8th October. On the same Sunday is the Silvington harvest thanksgiving at 6:30 pm, and then the harvest season closes with Middleton Scriven’s service on Sunday October 15th at 6:30 pm.
In these times of uncertainty and reappraisal of our relationship with the wonders of the created world, it is really important to join together to give thanks for the food the world provides us with, and the farming community who work so hard to grow it. So come to your parish thanksgiving service, and celebrate!
