Great turn out for joint coffee morning : Middleton Scriven and Glazeley communities

Many thanks to our extended communities  in Middleton  Scriven and Glazeley for  supporting our joint  coffee morning  on Saturday 14 January at Glazeley church. As our Middleton Scriven church  is still undergoing reordering work, we were delighted with the offer from Glazeley to join them in their church for our monthly coffee morning.

There were tables loaded with  home made cakes and goodies,  beautiful homemade cards,  a  huge raffle   plus lots of  books, cd’s and dvd’s  making the  occasion a very busy one.  Lots of teas, coffees and hot chocolate  was served accompanied   by very yummy  scones ( courtesy  of our Middleton Scriven Star baker Stella Giles). Both vicars joined us  plus  over 50 people and  it was  a great opportunity to catch up with  neighbours and friends from across our local area/ communities early in the New Year.

Funds  raised ( £164)  were  split between the two churches. Thank  you to all helpers for making this possible.

  1. Spesking as one of those two vicars, can I express my appreciation to the good people of Glazeley as well for hosting our temporarily-peripatetic monthly coffee morning? Good to catch up with some old friends and meet new people – great cross-benefice fellowship opportunity.

Thanks also to those who organised it, and provided lovely food and hot drinks on a cold day!
